I recently came across a new side hustle that can pay up to $100 an hour. This cool, in-demand opportunity to make money online is called AI content assistant.
Given the growth and popularity of AI-powered bots like ChatGPT — which content creators are increasingly using to help them create high-impact content — demand for expertise is growing as well.
And those with the expertise to help companies use AI-powered bots to fill their content-creation needs can earn up to $100 an hour.
What is an AI content assistant?
The role of an AI content assistant is to ensure that whatever generative AI platform (e.g. ChatGPT) is being used is creating content that meets the needs of clients.
For example, you might tell ChatGPT to use the text from an inforgraphic to create a 600-word blog post with 3 main points. After the platform generates the text, you would need to proofread and double-check it for accuracy.
Furthermore, you would likely need to do some light copy editing to maximize its readability. This can be an especially good side hustle or even a full-time work from home job for freelance writers.
How much do AI content assistants make?
Since most AI content assistants tend to be freelancers, the amount you earn really depends on how much your time is worth and how much clients are willing to pay you for your skill-set.
That being said, I’ve read that many charge between $20 to $100 an hour on freelancing platforms like Fiverr and Upwork.
So, in the beginning, you might start out earning less. And then once you build up your clientele and prove your value, you can likely charge considerably more.
Where do AI content assistants find work?
In addition to freelancing platforms, you can also advertise your AI content services on professional networking sites like LinkedIn. Just set your profile to “Open to Work,” as well as list all of your relevant skills and experience, to let potential clients know about your background.
You can also likely find work by searching on traditional job sites, including Indeed and CareerBuilder.
